The rivalry between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford was not the only one that shook the film industry

The confrontation between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, which motivates "Feud", the new FX series, has not been the only one that has shaken the film industry. Bette herself has starred in other episodes in the past, mainly with Miriam Hopkins and also with Errol Flynn.

Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich competed from a distance, trying to emulate each other, although they never worked together. A few years ago there was talk of a strong tension between Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep during the filming of "August" (2013). But of all these fights, none stronger than the one that the sisters Joan Fontaine and Olivia de Havilland staged throughout their lives.

Two great dramatic actresses who rivaled each other since childhood and although at some point they posed for photos and reports at the request of the studios, they never knew how to fraternize. As adults, they had no qualms about speaking ill of each other in various interviews. Joan died in 2013, she was 96 years old and did not ask to see her sister. Olivia, for her part, lives in Paris and in July she will be 101 years old. A few months ago, the magazine "Vanity Fair" interviewed her and the actress once again commented with some humor on her impossible relationship with her sister.
