Celebrities who are part of cults and dark sects
These celebrities were or still are part of different sects and cults that have generated controversy around the world.
Sinead O'Connor, the controversial singer, has converted to Islam. The news was met with ridicule from the media, but for those who know her career, she sounds like a logical step to find peace. After all, Islam is a religion like any other. However, there are other celebrities who have changed their religion and are now part of sects and cults with dark teachings. Here are some of them:
Tom Cruise
It is common knowledge that Tom Cruise is part of one of the most obscure religious organizations still active: the Church of Scientology. The so-called cult has been accused of manipulating the minds of his followers, using his secrets against him, and carrying out illegal activities to protect his safety. The cult believes that a spaceship will arrive to take a select few to a new life full of freedom, both physical and mental. Cruise is considered the face of the organization and when he has been questioned about his ties, he simply ends interviews and refuses to speak.
Neil Young
Neil Young has one thing to regret in his entire career: supporting Charles Manson, when the young man had dreams of becoming a great musician. Young tried to get him into the industry but failed. Over time, Manson abandoned his attempts to be famous and chose to create the cult of "The Family" whose members he manipulated into murdering different people, as he believed that a race war was coming.
Elvis Presley
Elvis Presley was weird. He sought to sleep with teenagers and in his last years he had dark encounters with the US government, but in addition to that, he became a follower of the community of Swami Paramahansa Yogananda, a woman who taught Hindu philosophy, such as yoga, but mixed with other thoughts. The leader affirmed that the mind was stronger than the body, and through different exercises she sought for people to fulfill themselves. However, it is believed that she only did it for monetary gain. Elvis, for his part, just wanted to know why God had made him Elvis Presley.
Jaden Smith
Although his father, Will Smith, is not part of a dark religious organization, Jaden Smith and his sister Willowson are rumored to be part of the Orgone Society, an organization that has the ideology that there is an energy called Orgone that can be used to bend and manipulate the energies that exist around people to heal, improve and eliminate evil. Nothing has been proven, but since Jaden is strange and has ideas far removed from those of his father, it is possible that it is true.
